Mental Self Defense is the use of tested, practical Cognitive Therapy techniques to help deal with the stresses and traumas of everyday life by reshaping self-destructive mental habits into constructive, coping, and healing habits. Through this process, painful emotions can be reduced and even relieved entirely to maximize a sense of mental strength, flexibility, and well-being. It takes a little work, but when you start to experience the healing capacity of your own mind it is so empowering.
I've seen Mental Self Defense techniques work again and again over the last 30 years for people who were desperate and ready to give up, and I have long considered the best way to share information about these valuable techniques with those who might not otherwise be exposed to them. That is why I worked for two years to make a DVD presentation that people could just pop into a DVD player or computer to sit back and watch, or let it play in the background and learn the techniques while they work on their household chores. These techniques have helped my family, my patients, and me many times. I hope you will give yourself the same opportunity to strengthen and hone your Mental Self Defenses.
